  Mayor's Update     Hello neighbor! SATURDAY: March with South City at the San Mateo County Pride Parade! II’m still blown away by the excitement to our very first city-wide Pride event! The love and energy from our community is something I will always be proud of. Thank you for celebrating with us as we kicked off Pride month! Let’s keep the celebration going by joining the South San Francisco contingent in the San Mateo County Pride Parade this Saturday at 10am! Register Here   Anonymous Fireworks Buyback Event The South San Francisco Police and Fire Departments are partnering with the San Mateo County Sherriff’s office to host an anonymous fireworks buyback event on June 22. Fireworks are illegal in South San Francisco. See flyer for all the details.   Bike Lanes for the Boulevards We’re committed to the full realization of the City’s Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan to make walking and biking safer and more enjoyable. Help plan the next step in this process as we look for ways to make improvements for bike and pedestrian access along Junipero Serra and Westborough Boulevards by attending our community workshop on June 25. A couple of reminders before heading to the hardware store: Check in with the City to make sure your projects have all the proper permits in place, and that your designs meet city code. Check on your service providers’ credentials to ensure they are a trusted entity.   Farmers' Market Stop by the South San Francisco Public Library table at this week's Farmers’ Market! Sign up for a library card, stock up on Summer Learning Challenge logs, and find out more about the events the SSF Public Library will be hosting June through August 2024. Youth of ages 0-17 can take home a free book, and we will also have some special SSF Farmers’ Market giveaways while supplies last.   COMMUNITY RESOURCES Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings Enabled The 2024 fire season is upon us and Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings (EPSS) enablement has started on the Peninsula, mainly for select circuits in the southern third of San Mateo County.
