ＳＦ周辺のベッドタウン

今度、仕事の関係でダラス（ＴＸ）からＳＦへ引っ越す事になり、アパートを探しているのですが…あまりのレントの高さに頭がクラクラします。
ＴＸではプレーノというベッドタウンに住んでいます。ＳＦでも同じような感じで仕事場（ＳＦダウンタウン）まで1時間程度を考えています。
現在考えている予算は＄1500/月で、住居はRichmondかWalnut Creekを考えていますが、どうやらBayAreaの方が良いという記事をよく読みます…
実際に引っ越すのは数ヵ月後なのですが、どなたかアドバイスをいただけないでしょうか?
詳細は以下です。
予算：＄1000～2000
人数：一人
ペット：無し
車：有り
勤務地：ＳＦダウンタウン（車で一時間～一時間半が好ましい）
英語：可、日本人コミュニティの有無：どちらでも良い。

サンフランダウンタウンへの車通勤は結構大変だと思います。
1 交通量が多い、渋滞する。
2 車で橋を車で渡る場合は通行料がかかります。
3 勤務地での駐車場の確保。
電車での通勤はどうですか?（BART）
BARTが走っているところに住めば車と電車と使い分けが
できてよいと思います。
