Biodiversity Urban Forest Workshop
The City of Mountain View is hosting a unique workshop for the Biodiversity and Urban Forest Plan. This opportunity is geared towards youth and families and will feature live music by local artist Andy Z. City staff will engage with participants through fun activities, songs and conversation.

Vote Mountain View in "Best of Silicon Valley"
Best of Silicon Valley
The City of Mountain View has been recognized in the Metro Silicon Valley’s “Best of Silicon Valley 2024” Awards! The Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts is nominated for “Best Performing Arts Center” and Downtown Mountain View is in the running for "Best Neighborhood in Which to Spend an Afternoon."
The voting period is now open so make sure to support our city.

*Community Spirit Shines at National Night Out*

The Mountain View community celebrated National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6 with an evening of fun and engagement. Residents connected with neighbors and met with local public safety officials at Civic Center Plaza and Mercy Street.
The event included police cars and fire engines at a Public Safety Vehicle Display, lawn games, complimentary ice cream and popsicle treats, and a variety of community resource booths.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support Mountain View's public safety and first responders team!
Library Book Sale This Weekend
Library Book Sale
Bargain hunters and avid readers, listen up: The Friends of the Mountain View Library book sale returns this weekend.
Come and find great bargains on gently used books for adults and youth, DVDs, CDs and more. Funds raised will support Mountain View Public Library programs, including upcoming Summer Reading events and prizes.

Appointments are required. Bring proof of Santa Clara County residency (e.g., driver’s license or utility bill) to the event.
If you can’t attend on Aug. 24, the County of Santa Clara has permanent hazardous waste drop-off facilities available year-round to county residents by appointment.

Fall Activity Guide 2024
The City of Mountain View's 2024 Fall Activity Guide is now available online - covering activities taking place September through December, including holiday activities, school break camps, sports and fitness classes, special events and more.
Registration began Monday, Aug. 5 at 8:30 a.m. for Mountain View residents with registration opening Monday, Aug. 12 at 8:30 a.m. for non-residents. For more information on fall programs, the activity guide or registration, call us at 650-903-6331 or send us an email to recreation@mountainview.gov.
Financial assistance is available. Call 650-968-0836 to schedule a qualifying appointment with CSA.

The Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts is accepting new volunteer ushers.
For over 30 years, the ushers of MVCPA have welcomed and taken great care of our audiences. Tasked with taking tickets, seating, welcoming and the overall wellbeing of patrons, MVCPA ushers are an integral part of our team.
If you are interested, a New Usher Training will be held on Aug. 19.
