Mayor's Update     Hello neighbor! Did you know that tech support scams were the most widely reported kind of elder fraud in 2023? Or that victims 30-49 years old were the most likely group to report losses from investment fraud? No one is immune, and that’s why Vice Mayor Eddie Flores and I have invited the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to host free Scam Stopper Seminars beginning next Friday. Light food and refreshments will be provided; register below. Register for the Sept. 13 Seminar Register for the Sept. 19 Seminar   Brain Health & Dementia Workshops According to the Alzheimer’s Association, nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s. By 2050, this number is projected to rise to nearly 13 million, and that’s why we’ve partnered with them to host workshops at the Roberta Cerri Teglia Center beginning next Wednesday. Visit the Center to register or call 650-829-3820.   Age-Friendly Survey As part of the City of South San Francisco’s designation as an Age-Friendly City with AARP, we are working on the development of our Age-Friendly Action Plan. AARP would like to find out about our community and what we’ll need as we get older to make our community a great place to live. All your responses are captured and tabulated directly by AARP and will be kept entirely confidential. The survey will take approximately 20 minutes. Please note that all questions have to be answered for your survey to be counted. Take the Survey   New Park at Linden and Pine Thank you to all who participated in the Open House + Listening Session, Pop-Up Event, Merchants' Round Table and provided feedback during the Visioning Phase for the new park at Linden and Pine.
