Newell Road Bridge Replacement Project Status Update Due to delays in Caltrans review of right-of-way certification documents, access to federal funding did not occur, and Caltrans has now reprogrammed construction funding to FY 2026. Since this potentially impacts the City’s ability to start work in Summer 2025, staff is continuing to seek earlier funding from Caltrans to follow the right-of-way certification approval. Other project work continues notably tree removal at Newell Road and San Francisquito Creek needed in advance of construction began this week. Work will continue tentatively through Tuesday, October 15. Read the full update.
