*Community Tree Lighting Celebration*

Kick-off the winter season with Mountain View’s Community Tree Lighting Celebration on* Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, from 5:30-8 p.m.* at Civic Center Plaza, 500 Castro St. 

This festive evening will feature local performances, multicultural tributes, free refreshments, train rides, arts and crafts, story time with Mrs. Claus, and a special visit from Santa. The lighting of the community tree will be the event's highlight, bringing everyone together to celebrate the season.

Spread holiday cheer by bringing a new, unwrapped toy or canned food to donate to Cops that Care and CSA. Your contributions will help brighten the holidays for those in need.

This holiday season, all children, who are residents of Mountain View, can put together their wish lists and send them to Santa! Sending a letter is free and is available to Mountain View residents only. Don’t forget to include your return address so Santa can respond. Letters will be accepted until *Friday, Dec. 6. *

*There are two easy ways for Santa to receive letters: *


* Drop your child’s letter in Santa’s mailbox located in the Mountain View Community Center lobby (201 South Rengstorff Avenue) between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
* Mail your letter to City of Mountain View Recreation Division, c/o Santa Claus, P.O. Box 7540, Mountain View, CA 94039.

*Frosted Fun: A Teen & Senior Gingerbread Challenge* 
*Thursday, Dec. 19, **4 - 4:45 p.m.** *
"Senior Center- Social Hall"

The View Teen Center and Senior Center have partnered up for a Gingerbread House Competition! Don’t miss this festive chance to build, bond, and bring your gingerbread vision to life. For Seniors interested, a $5 holding fee is required to reserve your spot, and it will be returned on the day of the event. In-person sign-ups only at the Senior Center Front Desk. Limited spots available and all supplies will be provided.

Have a teen interested in participating? Sign up at The View Teen Center Front Desk starting Dec. 2.
