Email from City Manager's Office Palo Alto community news, announcements, and events View as Webpage   What's New Project Safety Net Letter to the Community: Strength in Community Engaging Ways to Shape Transportation Initiatives Council Priorities Objectives Discussion on Monday State of the City: Tuesday, March 18 Weekly City Manager Updates: March 3 Citywide Updates Project Safety Net Letter to the Community: Strength in Community Project Safety Net issued a letter to the community following this week's tragedy offering ways to support one another during these challenging times. There are resources available to support you, youth, and community members experiencing loss and grief. allcove Palo Alto (2741 Middlefield Rd, Suite 102, Palo Alto) provides mental health, physical health, and other services for youth ages 12-25. The center will provide an in-person grief support session this coming Friday, March 7, 5 – 6 p.m. as well as processing spaces virtually and in person over the next two weeks. Acknowledging that this is a painful time for our community, we encourage everyone to come together and share resources to support community wellness. Engaging Ways to Shape Transportation Initiatives Shape the future of how the community gets around Palo Alto through several efforts underway. The comment period on the draft Safe Streets for All Safety Action Plan, which plans for improvements that support vulnerable road users and reduce vehicle miles traveled closes on March 15. Use this interactive map to submit comments on the proposed bicycle network and other project recommendations, that are fundamental elements of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation Plan update. Plus, attend an in-person workshop on April 2, 6-7:30 p.m. to learn, give feedback, and ask questions related to transportation planning. Council Priorities Objectives Discussion on Monday As follow up to their annual retreat when the 2025 City Council Priorities were selected, the City Council will review the proposed priority objectives and workplans on Monday, March 10. The proposed 2025 Priority Objectives include 68 items that will receive significant staff resources through the calendar year to make progress on the Council’s Priorities. State of the City: Tuesday, March 18 Join the Mayor at the Rivian on Tuesday, March 18, 6 – 8 p.m. for the State of the City Address with a reception to follow. Gain a look at the year ahead, and progress updates on the Council’s 2025 priorities. Successfully Navigating College Admissions: Students and their families can learn about college admission trends, admission strategies, and the importance of community service from experts during a virtual presentation on Tuesday, March 11 at 4 p.m. Cubberley Community Center Community Meeting: Attend the first of three community workshops advancing the Cubberley Master Plan effort. Join the Cubberley conversation on Wednesday, March 19 at 6 p.m. to share feedback on the Cubberley Vision, Programming, & Placemaking. All meetings will be held at the Cubberley Pavilion located at 4000 Middlefield Rd., Palo Alto. Around the World in a Day Multicultural Festival: Connect with community at this celebration of cultures from around the world. Share, learn, and explore unique traditions on Saturday, March 29, 10 a.m. – 1p.m. at Lucie Stern Community Center. Immerse yourself at this festival with booths, performances, and exhibits.
