2024 Tree Lighting with Teddy and the Tree

Join us tonight at the Annual Tree Lighting event, presented by EdgeCore Digital Infrastructure and Silicon Valley Power (SVP) on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in Central Park, 909 Kiely Blvd. See the 90 ft. community tree light up before your eyes. Enjoy live entertainment, photos with Santa, kids activities, food and treats, community booths, recognition of the 2024 Honorary Tree Lighter by the Mayor and plenty of holiday excitement.

Celebrate with our Emcees Caylie and Isabelle as they present the talented groups of dancers, musicians, and singers all evening long.

Santa's Photo Express Presented by Edgecore Digital Infrastructure

Head to the Santa Pass Distribution Booth located next to the entrance of Santa's Photo Express, beginning at 5:15 p.m. to pick up your free Santa Photo Pass. (Passes will be distributed on a first come-first serve basis). Photos with Santa will be taken by City staff on your personal device. One photo per family. Choose from time slots between 6-8:15 p.m. Santa will take a short break at 7 p.m. Children will receive a special Teddy Bear to take home, while supplies last.

Honorary Tree Lighter

The City is proud to announce Mike Walke as the 2024 Honorary Holiday Tree Lighter.

Mike Walke embodies the meaning of the holiday season of giving through community service, generosity, and a heartfelt positive spirit. He serves as the Santa Clara Police Activities League (PAL) Executive Board President which oversees 11 various programs for Santa Clara’s’ youth. During the holidays, he facilitates PALs "Shop with a Cop" program which allows children of Santa Clara to shop with Santa Clara Police Officers, City Council members, and community leaders. In addition, he served as a Parks & Recreation Commissioner from 2012 – 2020 and continues to volunteer with PAL and Rotary during the annual Art & Wine Festival. 

Mike Walke has been coaching in the city since 2002, for PALs soccer and softball programs, Westside Little League, and is currently serving as a high school football coach. He has also been volunteering with the Santa Clara Parade of Champions since 2019 as the Green Team Lead and member of the Board of Directors.

SCFD Holiday Toy Drive

Help us spread holiday cheer-The Holiday Toy Drive is here! See Sparky at the Fire Dept. Booth to with donation of a new, unwrapped toy for children ages 7-17 to help bring smiles to the kids of Santa Clara! You can also drop toys off to ALL Santa Clara Fire Stations or at Fire Prevention, 1675 Lincoln St. Donations are accepted from Nov. 1- Dec. 10.

Free Parking will be available at the Central Park Pavilion Parking Lot, 909 Kiely Blvd. and on Patricia Drive (near the International Swim Center).
