Citywide Garage Sale This Weekend





Citywide Garage Sale 2024




Join hundreds of residents holding garage sales at their homes this weekend. This event supports the City's zero waste [ https://www.mountainview.gov/our-city/departments/public-works/recycling-zero-waste ] goals by keeping reusable items out of the landfill and conserving natural resources.

A new helpful feature for the 2025 Citywide Garage Sale is an online interactive map [ https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/cc77b0042aad4c8ba51f159bdb8a7480?org=MountainView ], which is now available! Hard copies of the map and an address list with sale items will also be available outside the main entrance at City Hall (500 Castro St.) and at the curb next to the Mountain View Public Library above-ground parking lot on Franklin Street.






ADA Transition Plan Community Outreach

As part of the City of Mountain View's Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan update, the City will conduct a survey and two meetings for community members to learn more about the plan and share their input. This information will help clarify which ADA improvements are prioritized in the plan.

The City of Mountain View is seeking input from the public through the Downtown Precise Plan Visioning Survey.

Results from the survey, along with feedback from community meetings and workshops, will help the City understand the community’s thoughts and ideas on the characteristics that make Downtown unique and special, as well as the specific improvements that may be needed to ensure that Downtown remains the heart of Mountain View.

Harvest History Festival 2024





Celebrate Mountain View’s rich agricultural heritage at the 7th Annual *Harvest History Festival*. This family-friendly event features live music by The Stragglyrs, fun children’s activities—including bubble entertainment, a puppet show, face painting, caricatures, and art projects—plus garden demonstrations and an up-close look at the historic Immigrant House.

Sci-Fi September is back at the Mountain View Public Library!

All month long, the Library is offering events that celebrate science fiction, and the real-life science that inspires the stories. This year, there will be another compelling slate of programs for sci-fi aficionados and science buffs of all ages.  

Check "out of this world" books such as Octavia E. Butler's Parable of the Sower, listed in the Sci-Fi September picks for adult readers.
