NEW! Bollard Beautification Project

The City of Mountain View Visual Arts Committee is seeking six artists or teams to transform safety bollards into public artwork in the Downtown Mountain View Castro Street Pedestrian Mall. Applications due by 11:59 AM (PST) Friday, August 2, 2024. Apply online at via Call for Entry (CaFE) [ https://artist.callforentry.org/festivals_unique_info.php?ID=13608 ].

*"Project details"*:

*Art Opportunities:* 12 bollards will serve as canvases. The VAC is seeking six artists/artist teams, each responsible for two bollards.

*Deadline to Apply:* August 2, 2024, 11:59 AM (PST)

*Stipend:* $1,500 per artist/artist team.

*Art Installation Period:* August 26 - 29, 2024.

*Eligibility:* Bay Area artists (preference to Santa Clara County residents); under 18 requires an adult sponsor.

*Proposal Requirements: *Concept for two bollards, including color sketch or photo, title, detailed description, and estimate of material costs. 

*DEI Focus:* Reflect the City's diversity, equity and inclusion goals.

*Shoreline Boathouse Expansion Project*

The Visual Arts Committee (VAC) seeks artists/teams to create original artwork for the Shoreline Boathouse Expansion Project, and an additional location at Shoreline Lake. Applications due by 11:59 AM (PST) Monday, July 29, 2024. Apply online via Call for Entry (CaFE) [ https://artist.callforentry.org/festivals_unique_info.php?ID=13609 ] today!

*"Project details":*

*Location: *Shoreline Regional Park, Shoreline Boathouse, 3160 N. Shoreline Boulevard.

*Art Opportunities: *Wall art on three external-facing walls of the Boathouse and painting or tiling on a new, sustainably made bench at Shoreline Lake.

*Public Art Budget: *$121,200 (2% of the construction budget). The VAC is open to selecting multiple art installations and/or multiple artists.*  *

*Eligibility: *Artists/artist teams must be over the age of 18 residing in California, with experience in similar works.* *

*Proposal Requirements: *Detailed description of the proposed artwork, the proposed location, and artist fees / budget.* *
