To the extent possible, the contractor's schedule and phasing has been optimized to lessen construction impacts while school is in session. Work in March 2025 will consist of demolition and concrete work, which may cause some temporary disruptions to traffic flow. Construction work will pause temporarily while traffic signal equipment is fabricated, and then resume in June 2025 for concrete work, paving, and striping. Traffic signal improvements will be installed between August and December 2025; this work is anticipated to be less disruptive to traffic flow compared to other phases. Work is expected to continue until December 2025, with minor construction closeout work taking place in early 2026. Furthermore, the pedestrian pathway, adjacent to San Mateo Creek and connecting Norfolk Street to the Bay Trail, will see upcoming tree root maintenance and pavement restoration work in April 2025. If you have any questions about the project, please contact Kenneth Tanaka at ktanaka@cityofsanmateo.org.
