*New MVFD Ambulance Provides Additional Life-Saving Care to Community*

MVFD Ambulance

The City of Mountain View Fire Department is placing its new 9-1-1 emergency ambulance transport in service in the coming weeks.

Until now, the MVFD has provided pre-hospital 9-1-1 Emergency Medical Service (EMS) in fire engines and trucks, with ambulance transport service in Mountain View being provided only by a private company through the Santa Clara County Emergency Medical Services Agency. This agency has agreed to allow MVFD to operate one ambulance, enabling an additional local response.

Approximately 70% of the fire department’s emergency responses are EMS-related. Having an additional ambulance in Mountain View at Fire Station 1 will result in faster emergency care for our residents.

For more details, view the Fire Department's news release [ https://www.mountainview.gov/Home/Components/News/News/1050/284 ].
