North Palisade Partners Breaks Ground on $30M Fremont Innovation Center
Earlier this week, North Palisade Partners broke ground on the Palisade Fremont Innovation Center, a nearly 70,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility located at 43990 Fremont Boulevard near Auto Mall Parkway.
This nearly $30 million investment marks a significant milestone in Fremont’s ongoing growth as a hub for reshoring and advanced manufacturing. More than just a new development, this project brings real community value. It is expected to generate over 100 permanent high-tech jobs upon completion, provide $100,000 in funding for local beautification, and activate a long-vacant site with state-of-the-art innovation space.
At a time when few projects are breaking ground, this development highlights strong confidence in Fremont and the power of effective public-private collaboration. The unanimous support and strategic rezoning decision by our City Council were crucial in making this project possible. Together, we are successfully growing and evolving Fremont as a hub for innovation while increasing confidence in our city’s position as a leader in advanced manufacturing.
We extend our sincere thanks to all who contributed to making this project a reality. We look forward to celebrating the project completion in 2026.

Fremont Celebrates 14th Annual Manufacturing Week with Student Tours and a Glimpse into the Future of Robotics
Fremont’s 14th Annual Manufacturing Week took place this week, celebrating the innovation and partnerships that make Fremont a leader in advanced manufacturing.
As part of this week’s events, we partnered on hosting a media tour at Sonic Manufacturing Technologies, a key player in Fremont’s thriving electronics sector. Sonic is home to the production line for DoorDash’s new autonomous delivery robot, DOT, a major step forward in how goods move through our communities. Designed to operate efficiently in urban environments, DOT represents the next generation of local delivery, powered by robotics and advanced manufacturing right here in Fremont.
Tour guests experienced firsthand how the future of last-mile delivery is being built locally, reaffirming why advanced manufacturers continue to choose Fremont as the place to grow and innovate.
Close to 500 students from across the Bay Area toured 17 facilities across industries including semiconductor, biotech, robotics, autotech, and clean tech discovering the technologies shaping tomorrow’s workforce.

Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District (ACMAD) detected an invasive mosquito species, Aedes aegypti
Detection of Invasive Mosquito in Northern Fremont
Recently, the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District (ACMAD) detected an invasive mosquito species, "Aedes aegypti", in a community north of Ardenwood. The District has been working closely with residents in the area to inspect yards for standing water, respond to reports of biting mosquitoes, and set traps for monitoring.
On Thursday, October 9, the District treated the area south of Paseo Parkway, between Deep Creek Road and Interstate 880, extending just before Creekwood Drive. The treatment was applied using a truck-mounted mist sprayer dispersing Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis).
Bti is a naturally occurring bacterium found in soil. It produces crystal-shaped proteins that specifically target and kill the larval stages of mosquitoes, black flies, and midges. Importantly, Bti is non-toxic and non-pathogenic to humans, birds, fish, mammals, and beneficial insects such as pollinators. Once applied, the Bti will settle into any remaining standing water, effectively killing mosquito larvae present there.
How Residents Can Help
Mosquitoes require water to complete their life cycle — they lay eggs near water, and their larvae and pupae develop in it. Without standing water, mosquito eggs cannot hatch. This is why District staff regularly inspect properties and work to eliminate sources of standing water.
Residents throughout Fremont can help by dumping or draining any standing water found on their properties. Even small containers, such as bottle caps, can serve as mosquito breeding sites. The District also recommends scrubbing outdoor plant containers or any other items that hold water with soap or a 5% bleach solution to remove any "Aedes aegypti" eggs that may be attached.

New Mental Health Services Now Available in Fremont
The City is excited to share that the Alameda County Behavioral Health Department’s Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) now serves Fremont – providing additional mental health services for community members in need.
MCT consists of licensed clinicians who respond without police presence and provide support through de-escalation methods and connecting community members to services and local providers. Available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, MCT can be reached at (510) 891-5600 or by calling 911.
The MCT joins the Mobile Evaluation Team (MET), a collaboration between the Fremont Police Department and the City Human Services Department, in serving the Fremont community. MET consists of one police sergeant, two police officers, one community service officer, and one licensed mental health professional who provide field-based response and compassionate services to Fremont’s most vulnerable communities, including those experiencing mental health crises and homelessness.
Since MET’s deployment in 2017, the number of 5150s written annually in Fremont has decreased from 847 to 375 in 2024, proving the value of mental health services and education.
According to the *Substance Abuse and Mental Health Servies Administration (SAMHSA) [ https://www.samhsa.gov/data/sites/default/files/reports/rpt39443/2021NSDUHFFRRev010323.pdf ]*, one in five U.S. adults experiences mental illness each year. With September being National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, remember that a mental health crisis looks different for everyone. Be vigilant and pay attention to signals that someone may be experiencing a mental health crisis, including sudden and dramatic changes in personality, giving away prized possessions, risky behavior that disregards safety, and extreme paranoia. To learn more, visit *NIMH: Warning Signs of Suicide [ https://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/publications/warning-signs-of-suicide ]*.
If you need help with a mental health crisis, please call 911, and the dispatcher will connect you with the correct resource.
