Aedes Treatment Map

Due to the detection of 172 "Aedes aegypti "mosquitos [ https://vector.santaclaracounty.gov/press-release-oct-30-2024 ] in City of Santa Clara (Zip Code: 95051), County of Santa Clara Vector Control will be performing treatment on *Wednesday, Nov. 13* *at approximately 5:30 a.m.* Vector Control will continue surveillance efforts and conduct treatments in the area if additional "Aedes aegypti" mosquitoes are found.

*To protect yourself from mosquito bites:*


* Apply insect repellents [ https://www.epa.gov/insect-repellents/find-repellent-right-you#search%20tool ] containing EPA-registered ingredients such as DEET, picaridin, IR3535 or oil of lemon eucalyptus, always following label instructions.
* Wear long-sleeve shirts, pants, socks and shoes when mosquitoes are most active. 
* Make sure your window and door screens are in good condition. 

*Residents throughout Santa Clara County should also:*


* Properly screen rain barrels [ https://files.santaclaracounty.gov/migrated/Rain%20Barrel%20Brochure%20FINAL.pdf ], cisterns and irrigation drains [ https://files.santaclaracounty.gov/2024-01/irrigation-drains-rev-1-24.pdf ] to prevent mosquito access.
* Fix leaky water faucets and broken sprinkler heads and avoid overwatering [ https://files.santaclaracounty.gov/migrated/Water%20Conservation%20and%20Mosquito%20Prevention.pdf ] lawns and plants.
* Ensure window and door screens are in good condition with no holes or tears and are tight-fitting.
* Make sure the water level of swimming pools is adequate for proper circulation and filtration.
