Water Main Break Update - Friday Update

Charleston Road between Huff Avenue and Shoreline Boulevard temporarily closed

*11:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30 Update: *The City of Mountain View’s field crews worked overnight and continue to work today, Aug. 30 to repair the water main break and repair the affected road.

Charleston Road between Huff Avenue and Shoreline Boulevard remain closed at this time. The City anticipates the affected streets to reopen later today.

*6:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 Update:* On Thursday afternoon, there was a large water main break on the Charleston Road and Joaquin Road.

City of Mountain View crews have been able to isolate the break and are working to repair it.

The break caused high water flows through much of the City’s water system. Because of this, residents may be experiencing discolored water. If you are experiencing discolored water, run the water in your home to clear it. This discoloration is normal in these types of events and the water is safe.

*2:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 Update:* Due to a water line break, Charleston Road between Huff Avenue and Shoreline Boulevard is closed as of 1:45 this afternoon.

Please seek alternate routes and expect traffic impacts in this area. There is no estimated time for the affected roadways to reopen.
