At next week’s City Council meeting on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, which begins at 7:00 pm at City Hall, 3300 Capitol Ave., the meeting agenda will include the following items and more:
* Second Reading and Adoption of an Ordinance of the City of Fremont Amending Fremont Municipal Code Section 10.05.550 Restricting On-Street Parking to 72 Hours and Adding Section 10.05.555 Restricting Oversized Parking in Residential Areas.

*Fire Chief Zoraida Diaz Appointed to State Board of Fire Services*
Last month, Governor Newsom *announced* [ https://www.gov.ca.gov/2024/10/31/governor-newsom-announces-appointments-10-31-24/ ] the appointment of Fire Chief Zoraida Diaz to the State Board of Fire Services. The State Board of Fire Services is an 18-member advisory board to the California State Fire Marshal. The Board is comprised of representatives of fire service labor, fire chiefs, fire districts, volunteer firefighters, city and county government, Office of Emergency Services, and the insurance industry. The Board provides a forum for addressing fire protection and prevention issues of statewide concern; develops technical and performance standards for training of fire service personnel; accredits curriculum; establishes policy for the certification system for the California Fire Service; advises the State Fire Marshal on dissemination of regulations; and sits as an appeals board on the application of California State Fire Marshal regulations.
Chief Diaz was sworn-in on November 5.
