Well Fed = Less Lead

child eating an apple
Lead Poisoning Prevention Week October 19 to 25

Do you know that healthy eating can help protect your children from lead poisoning?

Lead poisoning continues to be one of the most common environmental illnesses in California children. Children are at greatest risk of harm from lead poisoning since even the smallest amount of lead can cause lifelong problems. There is no known safe level of lead in the body and many children who are at risk have not been tested for lead.

The good news? Lead poisoning is 100% preventable!

The theme of this year’s Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Week will focus on Nutrition as Prevention. California Department of Public Health CLPPB will be hosting free public webinars, featuring guest presenters who will share information and resources related to nutrition, food safety, and food access. All sessions are free and open to the public.
