The City is kicking off its annual street resurfacing project, which includes both repairs and preventative maintenance across multiple locations. Join the Conversation and Take the Survey   Aging Adult Resource Online Hub Los Altos received the Age-Friendly designation from the American Association of Retired Persons and the World Health Organization, and created an Age-Friendly Action Plan in 2024. Now, we're proud to announce an online hub for “Aging Adult Resources"! The resource hub spans from transportation, housing, emergency preparedness, and more. Explore the Online Hub   Los Altos - Palo Alto Bike Path Closure for ADA Improvements The Intersection Access Barrier Removal Project began on August 25. The Los Altos – Palo Alto Bike Path will be closed for ~3 1/2 weeks to install ADA ramps on Estrellita Way and Los Altos Ave. Los Altos Ave ramps have been demolished; we are currently preparing forms for new ramps and sidewalks. Please walk your bikes near this area for your safety. Thank you for your patience during our improvements. Learn More   Daylighting Law (AB 413) To improve visibility and safety at intersections, California’s AB 413 went into effect this year on January 1, prohibiting parking within 20 feet of marked or unmarked crosswalks and 15 feet of curb extensions. Citations and warnings may be issued for violations. Alyssa's 25 years of service in Los Altos Alyssa Yeargin, our Executive Assistant for the Police Department, has recently retired after 25 remarkable years at the City of Los Altos. Words cannot express how her warmth and wisdom impacted our city, leaving a legacy that can be felt for years to come. On behalf of our Los Altos community, the City congratulates and thanks her.
