Watch Here Federal Reserve’s 2024 Small Business Credit Survey The Federal Reserve Bank is currently conducting a survey of small businesses – those currently in operation, recently closed, or about to launch - and has asked for the help of local governments in informing small businesses of this opportunity to share your recent experiences about whether and how you use debt, what financial conditions you face, and more. Answers to these questions contribute to data that directly inform the Fed, federal government agencies, service providers, policymakers, and others—a public good ultimately benefiting your business and others like yours. All responses are confidential. The survey closes November 1, 2024. A scary amount of waste is created every Halloween: Candy wrappers, costumes and decorations, and single-use tableware just to name a few. Here are some tricks for your treats: Create your costume with materials you already have or can borrow from others, or consider shopping at a thrift or consignment store. Use a pillowcase, empty bucket, or reusable bag to collect candy. Decorate with whole or carved pumpkins. Resist the urge to paint or alter them in a way that would keep them from being composted after the holiday. Invest in rechargeable batteries for any decoration that requires batteries. If you’re hosting a party and serving bottled or canned beverages, make sure the empties get recycled (under the dark blue lid of a split recycling cart, or in a larger cart/bin labeled “Containers Only”). Choose reusable holiday décor: tablecloths, plates, cups, and utensils. Freeze any leftover candy. Gingerbread house building is right around the corner! Got more tips? Or photos of DIY costumes or decorations? Please send them to info@ssfscavenger.com so we can share with others. Stay informed with other City communications!
