About YAC:

The YAC is a dynamic group of teens working alongside city officials to bring youth perspectives to the forefront of decision-making. From organizing events to addressing community needs, YAC members play a crucial role in making Mountain View an even better place for teens.

*Interested students should:*

* Be a Mountain View resident currently in 6th-11th grade.
* Demonstrate leadership in school and/or community activities.
* Express an interest in advising City Council and Staff on teen issues and representing your fellow teens.
* Be open minded and willing to work with their peers.
* Commit to attend meetings, to actively participate in discussions and group projects, and to volunteer at city events and community service opportunities.

*Examples of YAC in Action:*

* Plan and led teen-only events like the Teen Wellness Retreat and Find Your Fit: Teen Career Day
* Advise Teen Center Staff for new programs and facility improvements; Provide a teen perspective to City Council and other City Committees 
* Attend Teen Leadership Conferences
* Volunteer at City Events, including the Summer Outdoor Movie Night Series, Monster Bash, Tree Lighting, Lunar New Year, Earth and Arbor Day, and more
