Email from City of Los Altos Official Newsletter of the City of Los Altos   Saturday, November 16, 2024   Los Altos City Council Approves Ordinance to Transition to District-Based Elections Starting in 2026 The City Council unanimously approved an ordinance Tuesday night, moving Los Altos to a district-based system for electing City Council members. The ordinance establishes five new district boundaries, the election schedule starting in November 2026, and candidate residency requirements. The City Council will meet next on Tuesday, December 10, in the Council Chambers for the swearing in of the new mayor, vice mayor, and incoming Council. A reception will follow at 8 PM in the Los Altos Community Center. Learn More     Athletic Field Closures for Winter Season If not already, the following fields will be closed by Monday, November 18, until March 2025 for routine winter maintenance and renovations: Grant Park, Rosita Park, and Hillview Soccer field.     Connect with Council: Office Hours Happening This Week Councilmember Neysa Fligor will hold office hours on Saturday, November 23, from 2:30-4 PM at the Grant Park Multi-Purpose Room. Councilmember Fligor hosts office hours once a month, where constituents can ask questions and share concerns in person. Her next office hours will be in January. Learn More     Feedback Requested: Urban County 2025-30 Consolidated Plan Santa Clara County, alongside cities and towns within the County, is updating its Consolidated Plans that help identify funding priorities for housing and community improvement projects.
