Technology Showcase Features Local Inventors and AI for Small Businesses

"Public invited to explore local tech, from makers to global innovators, at free event"

*"Mountain View, Calif."*" — "The City of Mountain View and the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce are proud to present the 11th annual Mountain View Technology Showcase, returning to Downtown Mountain View on July 30. This free public event highlights the cutting-edge technologies being developed right here in Mountain View—by startups, global companies, and research institutions alike.

On Thursday, July 30, the Technology Showcase kicks off with interactive exhibits from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Civic Center Plaza (500 Castro St.) New this year, exhibits will focus on the local makers community who are focused on novel technology uses, including inventions as well as functional art. Returning will be the popular autonomous vehicle displays, drone demonstrations, space exploration installations, robotics missions, virtual environments, and more. Attendees will also have an excellent opportunity to connect with companies offering job opportunities and gain insight into emerging fields.

“Mountain View remains the center of innovation,” said Chamber CEO Peter Katz. “Where else can you see the coolest offerings from individual inventors next to some of the biggest tech names in the world.”

At 4 p.m. the event concludes at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts with a panel titled "Leveling the Playing Field: AI for Small Businesses." At this free session, the public will hear how artificial intelligence can help small businesses thrive and compete on a larger scale than was previously possible from both the perspective of those using AI tools as well as from the corporations developing them. Panelists include Intuit, LinkedIn, DeepLearning.AI, and St. Stephen's Green.

This year’s presenting sponsors are Google and LinkedIn, with additional support from Aurora, Intuit, KMVT, Mountain View Voice, Nuro, RoboSense, Silicon Valley Business Journal, Star One, Valley Water, Waymo, Wing, and Wisk.
