Join the Sun Flair Scavenger Hunt!

Discover 26 Sun Flair sculptures across 13 Sunnyvale parks. This scavenger hunt is a fun, free way to enjoy the fresh air this spring and summer while learning about public art in our community.

 

*How to play:*


* Download the Scavenger Hunt clue list and map below or pick up a printed copy at the Sunnyvale Community Center, Senior Center, Library or Columbia Neighborhood Center.
* Visit the parks to match each sculpture with its clue. Find as many as you can!
* Turn in your completed sheet at the Sunnyvale Community Center by Aug. 31 to receive your Sun Flair prize.

Rotating Exhibition Spaces Bring Local Artists to Sunnyvale

Now through June 22, three walls in Sunnyvale will be home to a series of 8-week art exhibits by regional artists:


* Sunnyvale Senior Center (two walls in main hallway)
* Sunnyvale Main Library (main entry wall)

Sunnyvale's Lakewood Park Renovation

Our featured Sun Flair sculpture is a brightly colored prickly pear cactus plant, surrounding a blue and white painted sun. The sun's design was inspired by the artist's childhood memories of the sun combined with an abstract representation of the cacti elements. Come experience this vibrant sculpture at Panama Park as well as the other suns at a park near you!

Help Select Sunnyvale's Public Art

The Public Art Program is looking for jurors to help select the artists and artworks for upcoming projects. Juror responsibilities include:


* Selecting the art location
* Reviewing artist applications
* Selecting a short list of artists to develop conceptual designs

The commitment for each project is 3 to 10 hours. No experience required.
