City of Mountain View Receives “A” Score for Environmental Leadership for Third Year in a Row

Mountain View’s one of only 41 cities in North America to receive a top grade on CDP 2025 Cities

*"Mountain View, Calif."*" — "The City of Mountain View is once again recognized by CDP, a global environmental nonprofit organization, for its leadership in environmental transparency and action, securing a place on CDP’s respected annual ‘A List’ [ https://cdp.net/en/data/scores?utm_source=d365&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=disclosure&utm_content=2025scores&utm_term=disclosers#cities-a-list ].

Mountain View is one of only 120 cities and two states and regions in the world to receive the top ‘A List’ status for 2025. The City also received “A” scores from CDP in 2024 and 2023.  

“We are proud that our city is receiving this global recognition by CDP for its environmental leadership for a third consecutive year,” said Mayor Ellen Kamei. “Here in Mountain View, we are planning ahead for managing environmental risks, including sea level rise. Having this acknowledgement of our environmental efforts is a testament to how we are building a sustainable and resilient Mountain View of tomorrow.”    

CDP operates an independent environmental disclosure system, with over 1,000 cities, states, and regions reporting environmental data in 2025 to measure and manage risks and opportunities on climate change, water security, and deforestation.  

The City made the 2025 Cities ‘A List’ by demonstrating that it had conducted a climate risk and vulnerability assessment, adopted plans that address climate adaptation and mitigation, published a community-wide emissions inventory, established mitigation and adaptation goals, and made progress towards achieving targets.
