AARP Drivers Refresher Course

This refresher course is designed to help drivers 50 and up. Refresh driver skills and learn valuable defensive driving techniques. Register in advance. Space is limited. Register at the Senior Center Front Desk. (Payment by check only.)

Ballroom Social Dance - Returns to Wednesdays Aug. 13



*Returns to Wednesdays, Aug. 15. *Get on the dance floor and move to the music in a safe and supportive atmosphere. It's recommended to wear leather-soled shoes that will stay firmly on the feet.  Participants are encouraged to bring a partner.

Ballroom Dance Instruction - New Hours

Ballroom

Learn the Hustle in August. Get on the dance floor and move to the music in a safe and supportive atmosphere. No registration required. Space is limited. First come, first served.

Table Tennis - Location Change Aug. 18



Non-instructional, recreational table tennis for all levels. Up to six tables are available. Single and double players are welcome. Rotation of players occurs during the session if busy. Bring your own paddle and wear tennis shoes. The rules of the International Table Tennis Federation govern all play.


* *Dates: *Monday to Friday *(June 9 through Aug. 15 at Lakewood Park Building)*

Caregiver Support Group



Most of us find ourselves experiencing the role of caring for a loved one. This class offers an opportunity to explore issues facing caregivers today. Topics include ways to maintain our own mental, physical, and emotional health, helping our loved ones the best we can and how to ask for help and find resources.

This is a drop-in class, no registration necessary.

Not intended for Professional Caregiver Agency Employees.

Help Select Sunnyvale’s Public Art



The Public Art Program is looking for jurors to help select the artists and artworks for upcoming projects. Juror responsibilities include:


*  Reviewing artist applications
*  Meeting to select semi-finalists for Council’s consideration

The commitment for each project is 3 to10 hours.

Age-Friendly Sunnyvale Action Plan

Every three years the City of Sunnyvale revises its short-term goals to continue becoming a more age-friendly city. Committee members will meet two to three times to establish goals, followed by semi-annual progress meetings. Meeting dates are to be determined. Application deadline is ongoing, and vacancies are filled as needed.

Take a fun 2 to 3 hour boat ride to see the Blue Angels and the San Francisco skyline. You'll get two drink tickets and light snacks during the cruise. The lower deck is wheelchair accessible. To reach the upper decks, you’ll need to use stairs. Before boarding, enjoy some free time at Fisherman’s Wharf.
