Nir Eyal
ONLINE: Reshape Your Beliefs and Unlock Your True Potential with Nir Eyal

*Tuesday, May 19, 11 a.m. to Noon*

What if the only thing standing between you and the seemingly impossible… was belief? This is the question posed by bestselling author Nir Eyal in his new work, "Beyond Belief" [ https://sunnyvale.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S173C2207093 ]. Most of your limits aren’t physical. They’re psychological. In "Beyond Belief", Nir Eyal reveals how the hidden assumptions you carry shape what you see, how you feel, and what you do—and how to replace them with beliefs that unlock your true potential. Nir Eyal is the author of the international bestsellers "Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products" [ https://sunnyvale.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S173C1503039 ] and "Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life [ https://sunnyvale.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S173C1860045 ]".

Chris Benner
ONLINE: Charging Forward: Lithium Valley, Electric Vehicles and a Just Future: Author Talk with Chris Benner Online

*Thursday, May 21, 6 to 7 p.m.*

California's Salton Sea region is home to some of the worst environmental health conditions in the country. Recently, however, it has also become ground zero in the new "lithium gold rush"—the race to power the rapidly expanding electric vehicle and renewable energy storage market.

Join us for a conversation with Dr. Chris Benner, co-author of" Charging Forward: Lithium Valley, Electric Vehicles and a Just Future", as we discuss how this tiny patch of California represents a microcosm of the broad climate challenges we face; understanding Lithium Valley today is the key to grasping the future of our economy and our planet.

This program will take place over Zoom. Registration is required.

Storm Drain
Sunnyvale Environmental Services: Adopt-a-Storm Drain!

The City of Sunnyvale's Environmental Services Department is excited to introduce new a community initiative to help keep local waterways clean and streets flood-free: the Adopt-a-Storm Drain Program [ https://www.sunnyvale.ca.gov/homes-streets-and-property/streets-and-trees/storm-drains/adopt-a-storm-drain ].

Sunnyvale's stormwater system plays a critical role in managing runoff from streets and neighborhoods. Unlike wastewater, stormwater in Sunnyvale is not treated or filtered before reaching local waterways. Debris-clogged storm drains can cause street flooding and introduce pollutants into the Bay. By keeping storm drains clear of debris, participants can make a direct impact on the community by preventing flooding and protecting local creeks and the Bay.

As part of the program, participants will have the opportunity to name their adopted drain and will be provided access to City-supplied tools and safety equipment, including a litter tool, rake, dustpan, bucket, gloves and a safety vest.

Trail Survey
California State Trails: User Survey

*Deadline to Participate: Sunday, May 31*

Help Improve California's Trails! Trails are essential places for recreation, health, mobility and connection to nature. California is launching a statewide effort to improve access to recreational trails, like hiking, biking and horseback riding routes, especially for communities that have historically had less access to them.

This effort is part of a larger plan to make the outdoors more inclusive and accessible, support climate resilience, honor tribal priorities, and help meet California’s “30x30” goal (protecting 30% of land and coastal water by 2030).
