Learn About the College Application Process - Free Virtual Workshop

The City of Fremont’s Youth Advisory Commission invites high school students and families to a free virtual College Application Workshop on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Attendees will learn about financial aid, different application plans, and how to write impactful college essays. The session features a panel of admissions counselors, alumni, and parents offering insights and practical advice. This event is virtual and hosted on Zoom. Informational Meeting for Fremont-Decoto Land Development Plan

The City is in the planning stages of the *Fremont-Decoto Land Development Plan* [ https://city.fremont.gov/fremontdecotoldp ] an effort that implements Program 63 of the City’s *2023* [ http://fremont.gov/housingelement ]*–* [ http://fremont.gov/housingelement ]*2031 Housing Element* [ http://fremont.gov/housingelement ]. Program 63 requires the City to commit the 9.59-acre City-owned site at 4178–4268 Decoto Road for a residential development that contains an affordable housing component. The City is analyzing the ways to accommodate a redevelopment that maximizes the production of much needed housing, provides community benefits, and satisfies City priorities and state law.

On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the City will host an informational community meeting to share more details about the Fremont-Decoto Land Development Plan and gather community feedback.

Upcoming Council Budget Meetings

At the May 12, 2026, *City Council Meeting [ https://fremontca.viebit.com/watch?hash=dbBhKagNb4uI4HIM ]*, City staff presented the *Fiscal Year 2026/27 Proposed Operating Budget [ https://www.fremont.gov/home/showdocument?id=20482 ]* to the Council. This will be followed by public hearings and budget adoption by the Council on June 2 and June 9.
