Lakewood Branch Library and Learning Center opens Saturday, Aug. 29!

A new hub for connection, creation, and curiosity is officially here. Save the date for our Lakewood Branch Library and Learning Center Grand Opening [ https://links-2.govdelivery.com/CL0/https:%2F%2Fwww.library.sunnyvale.ca.gov%2FHome%2FComponents%2FCalendar%2FEvent%2F12332%2F74/1/0101019f24e1394f-11196202-3489-48ae-aa11-a27fc9a070cb-000000/cfYC_6vINeoHE6ooyJjAJZy3k64sAJfAYe9m-PZ2ZFE=452 ]. The all-day grand opening celebration will feature a storytime by Mychal Threets, live music from the Sound Project, a maker lab showcase, crafts and giveaways.

 

*When:* Saturday, Aug. 29, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

*Where:* 760 Lakechime Dr.

 

The new facility is a 20,000+ square foot, single-story, all-electric building designed to serve children, seniors, families and everyone in between. Look forward to comfortable study rooms, dedicated spaces for children and teens, and library programs for all ages. The Maker Lab is equipped with a 3D printer, a laser cutter, sewing machines, a large-format printer, vinyl cutters, jewelry-making supplies and arts-and-crafts supplies for curious creators.

 

The Lakewood Branch Library and Learning Center is the result of a community partnership built with the City, the Sunnyvale School District and the Fremont Union High School District.
