Youth Commissioners to the Senior Advisory Commission - Ordinance introduction Staff will introduce an ordinance to amend the San Mateo Municipal Code Section 2.29.10 "Senior Advisory Commission" to provide for Council appointment of two non-voting youth advisory members. Regular Meeting, 7 p.m. Ceremonial: Toyonaka Osaka – Expo – Presentation The City Council will receive an update on San Mateo's recent participation in Osaka Expo. San Mateo's participation will demonstrated our Sister City relationship with Toyonaka, Japan and the value of continuous international exchange between local governments and communities. Emergency Preparedness Month National Preparedness Month is observed every September to promote preparedness by providing resources and information to help everyone be ready to respond and recover from various situations. Old Business Delaware Street Safe Routes to School Corridor Bike Lane Improvements —– Study Session The City Council will receive an update and provide direction to staff on the Delaware Street Safe Routes to School Corridor Bike Lane Improvements project. New Business Presentation by the San Mateo Area Chamber of Commerce: 2024-25 Accomplishments and 2025-26 Work Plan The City Council will hear a presentation from the San Mateo Area Chamber of Commerce and provide questions and comments. *Correction to the August 18 Meeting Summary: City Council Appointments to External Agencies and Liaison Roles - Amendment The City Council reviewed and provided direction to amend the Council Appointments list for 2025 to add a liaison to the San Mateo Police Activities League. *Council Member Cwirko-Godycki was assigned as the liaison role, with Council Member Fernandez as the alternate. Build your sushi rolling skills with Roll With It: Sushi Skills, savor the taste of Spain with Savoring Spain: A Paella Workshop, and escape to Tuscany for an evening with A Taste of Tuscany: Italian Cooking Experience! Youth Dance classes are open for registration! Our Boys Dance class is a great way to build athleticism, and have fun playing various games while enjoying great music! Street Dance will also be taking place this Fall, packed with dances from hip hop to hop-scotch, and ballet to breakdance. Zumba is a Latin-inspired dance and fitness workout. This class combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. The cardio-based dance movements are easy to follow and designed for everyone! Once construction begins the entire park will be closed for the duration of construction (approximately 12 months).
