Ten Cited at Santa Clara DUI Checkpoint
Post Date: 09/14/2026 12:00 PM *Santa Clara, Calif.* – Santa Clara Police Officers issued ten citations and impounded one vehicle during a DUI checkpoint on September 10, 2026.

The DUI checkpoint was held in the area of Stevens Creek Boulevard and Winchester Boulevard from 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Ten drivers were cited for operating a vehicle without a valid license or with a suspended/revoked license. A total of 194 vehicles were contacted during the checkpoint.

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
