Learn More YCCA RECRUITMENT Applications are open now for the Youth Commission Council Academy (YCCA)! Applications are due by Friday, May 7, 2026. We have vacancies for 6 full-term seats and 1 short-term seat. Students who are curious about civic leadership are encouraged to apply! It is an interactive public-facing site that provides accessible data and visualizations about department operations and community safety. It offers information on topics such as calls for service, crime trends and department activity, giving residents an easy way to understand how the police department serves the community and promotes accountability through open data.  Learn More   City Rebates for Heat Pump Appliances Applications are open now on SVCE's website! We're partnering with Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SCVE) to provide additional new rebates for heat pump appliances. These rebates are funded by the City of Los Altos. Learn More   Hard Hat Tour: Distel Circle Celebrate a major milestone for Los Altos with a hard hat tour of Distel Circle, the city’s first affordable housing community! Join us on Wednesday, May 20, from 1–3 PM to see the exciting progress, learn about its innovative modular construction, and get a firsthand look at this future home for local residents. Learn More   Library Construction Underway Construction on the Courtyard at Los Altos Library is scheduled to begin mid-April with an estimated completion late fall 2026. There is no anticipated impact on the operating hours at Los Altos Library. The new courtyard will offer a welcoming outdoor destination where the community can gather, learn, and connect year-round. Open hours for the city offices and library remain the same. Learn More   SCCFD Partnership For 30 years, the Santa Clara County Fire Department (SCCFD) has provided Los Altos with premier fire and emergency services. As our current contract nears its expiration, the City of Los Altos is excited to announce it is exploring making this partnership permanent. This change helps ensure the long-term financial stability of Los Altos and secures a consistent, high-quality service for our community. The Spring/Summer Activity Guide, highlighting all of our classes, programs and events from April – August, is available as well! Pick up a copy at all city facilities, including the Los Altos Main and Woodland Libraries. Los Altos residents will have received a household copy in the mail last month.
