Backyard composting improves soil structure, increases the absorption of moisture, supplies soil with nutrients for plants and reduces erosion while decreasing what goes to landfill. Learn the art and science behind composting from a local Master Composter.

The City is hosting a composting basics workshop on *Saturday, June 6, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., at the Everett N. “Eddie” Souza Park located at 2380 Monroe St.* A master composter will teach residents how to build, maintain and troubleshoot a home compost bin and apply the finished compost.
