Residential Burglary Suspect Arrested After Warrant Served

The Mountain View Police Department arrested a suspect responsible for several residential burglaries.
Post Date: 05/23/2025 9:00 a.m. "Mountain View, CA "– The Mountain View Police Department arrested a suspect responsible for several residential burglaries. 

Since early 2025, the Mountain View Police Department Crime Suppression Unit (CSU) has been investigating a series of residential burglaries targeting the community. The investigation of the burglaries eventually led to the identification of 25-year-old Mountain View resident Jesus Tapia as a suspect. Subsequently, an arrest warrant was issued for several counts of burglary against Tapia.   

On Thursday, May 1, at approximately 6 a.m., Mountain View Police Department Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT), along with assistance from the Campbell Police Department, Redwood City Police Department, and Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety executed a search warrant in the 2000 block of Colony Street in Mountain View, where Tapia was arrested. During the execution of the search warrant, a firearm along with other pieces of evidence linking Tapia to the burglaries were located. Tapia was later booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on an arrest warrant for six counts of residential burglary, in violation of California Penal Code Section 459. 

We want to thank the Redwood City Police Department, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, and the Campbell Police Department for their assistance with the investigation.
