You are receiving this email because you have subscribed to receive updates regarding the Pickleball Study, Design and Construction Project.  The purpose of this project is to support the continued growth of pickleball and provide Mountain View players with increased access to courts.  The project seeks to find solutions that meet the needs of pickleball players, while continuing to also meet the needs of tennis players and visitors to and neighbors of City parks and open space.  The City has received a great number of comments from community members expressing the importance of these various recreational activities and advocating for specific solutions, which are sometimes mutually exclusive or infeasible for other reasons. 

It is a complex undertaking to balance the range of needs and factors that must be considered when coming up with and deciding on pickleball court location and design options.  The City of Mountain View is not alone in tackling this challenge, as other communities across the country have worked through similar complexities.  In recognition of the importance of finding a solution that works for the Mountain View community, the City Council has included this issue in its Fiscal Years 2025-27 Council Work Plan.

A Community Meeting is being planned for late summer/early fall to present study findings and gather public input.
