Winds may cause downed trees and power lines. The community is encouraged to review the City's storm preparedness resources and create a plan for what to do before, during, and after a storm. Learn More     Upcoming Holiday Closure for Thanksgiving In observance of Thanksgiving, Los Altos City Hall and most City facilities and departments will be closed Thursday, November 28-Friday, November 29. There will be no impact on emergency services. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, December 2. Learn More     Prevent Sewer Backups during the Holidays The City sees an increase in sewer backups during the holiday season caused by excessive amounts of fats, oils, and grease entering the sanitary sewer system. To avoid causing costly and messy sewer overflows, the proper disposal methods are available for residents to follow. Learn More     Upcoming Town Hall to Address Department Updates, Crime Prevention, and Neighborhood Programs The Los Altos Police Department and Resilient Los Altos are hosting a town hall on Wednesday, December 4, at 6 PM in the Garden House to share how they working to enhance community safety and how you can play an active role. There will be Q&A and an opportunity to connect with Chief Lagergren. Learn More     Annual Volunteer Award Gala Tickets on Sale The annual Joint Community Volunteer Service Awards luncheon is Friday, December 6, at 11:30 AM in the Los Altos Community Center. This event helps to recognize community members who provide extraordinary service to the Los Altos and Los Altos Hills communities. Tickets are $55 per person.
