Where'd Those Murals Go?
murals-sotc
In 2019, five local artists participated in a live painting display at the State of the City event. These murals were temporarily displayed on a wall in Downtown Sunnyvale near the temporary ice skating rink.
In the summer of 2020, a triangular frame was built to display the murals on Murphy Avenue as outdoor dining expanded into the street during the pandemic. Later that year the murals were moved to the Community Center where they remained on display until May 2024.
The murals needed to be moved due to the upcoming Community Center Grounds Renovation project. The panels were offered back to the artists but only one opted to retrieve their piece which is now on display in front of Mom's Biriyani restaurant, across from Fremont High School.
