How Can You Stop Leaks?

Many leaks have easy fixes that can save residents about 10% on water bills. Fix a Leak Week, starting March 17, reminds us to sleuth around our homes and fix leaks as we find them. Visit SantaClaraCA.gov/FixALeak [ https://www.santaclaraca.gov/our-city/departments-g-z/water-sewer-utilities/water-conservation/fix-a-leak ] for ways to easily check your home for leaks.

Common culprits include


* worn toilet flappers
* dripping faucets
* sneaky leaks from other faulty valves

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, one in ten homes has a leak that wastes 90 gallons of water or more "per day"! Running toilets are the most common offenders.

Water & Sewer Utilities is here to help! Stop by their City Hall office during regular business hours to pick up toilet leak detection dye tablets. Drop one tablet in your toilet tank and let stand; if color shows up in your bowl, you have a leaky flapper.
