The registration card that was issued for my strange shape Japanese halberd

This is an actual Registration card issued for my Chikushi Naginata ( Kyushuu area produced Japanese halberd ). I no longer obtain this Tourokushou ( Registration card ). This registration card was submitted at the Educational Ministry in Tokyo, Japan in order to obtain the export permission for my Chikushi-Naginata.


The registration card was originally issued on December 12th, 1955 and re-issued on March 6th, 1994. Most likely the previous owner lost the original Tourokushou. Therefore, he went to the same Government own Educational Ministry in the Saga-Ken ( Prefecture ) in the Kyushu Island nearly 40 years later.


My Chikushi Naginata was sent from Tokyo to San Francisco in 2003 with the Kanteisho ( Sword certificate of authenticity ) by Dr. Kazuo Tokuno, the number one sword appraiser ( Kantei-ka ) in the world.



My weird shape Naginata became one of my highlights exhibition items among others during the local 2-day gun shows, antique shows, Museums, school events, various festivals in the San Francisco Bay Area.

１．我妻の薙刀姿の脇指。（１３３４－１３８９）約６８０年前の製作です。　厳密に申しますと薙刀直しです。１９８０年に、吾輩が買い入れて、研磨を施して、江戸時代の骨董品の拵え金具を調達して、漆塗り、 鎺金も銀無垢の材料で、製作して、柄巻も施して、立派になりました。親粒の長い鱏皮( Stingrays skins )を、木台に着せてから柄巻を、致しました。この薙刀直しの脇差に似た薙刀を、探しています。即金で御払い致します。

２．我妻の大薙刀　備前伝の新々刀期に製作された大薙刀。　刃紋は、小丁子刃です。

３．我妻と２０２２年に、四国の愛媛県の近郊を、訪れました。　お抱え運転手さんを、雇って、様々なド田舎の愛媛県巡りを、致しました。　大山祇神社にも参りました。神社の近くの海産物レストランで、ランチを、頂きました

4. 我輩所持の筑紫薙刀（九州薙刀　又は、鉈薙刀）米国に、一口（一振り）だけ存在する掘り出し物です。

Ooyamazumi Shrine visit during the middle of September in 2022

２０２２年の９月の中頃に大山祇神社に参りました


Nisen Nijuuni nen no Kugatsu no Nakagoro ni Ooyamazumi Jinja ni Mairimashita

This is the Shrine where my wife and I have seen many many Kokuho ( National Treasure ) type & Juuyou-Bunkazai ( Important Cultural Asset or Property ) type Nipponto ( Japanese swords ). We were so glad to examine these important Japanese swords.

This Shrine is located in a small Island near the Onomich and Hiroshma areas in the Setonaikai or Setouchi Inland sea. During the first 3 days staying in this location, the Taifuu ( Typhoon ) was landing the Satsuma ( Kagoshima Ken or Prefecture ) area. We had some rains from September 16th to 18th, 2022. We hired the Okakae-Untenshu ( Chauffeur ) San during our trip to the Shikoku area. He was skillfully driving the Shikoku vicinity for my wife and me. We had a wonderful times together.

この地で、我最愛の妻と一緒に、拝見した、国宝級と重要文化財級の日本刀は、ほぼ、平安時代、または、鎌倉時代の製作の太刀や薙刀、大太刀の類の日本刀でした。　尋常の博物館は、国宝、重要文化財の日本刀は、数振りしか、展示していまんが、ここでは、かなりの超最高級品の日本刀が、飾られていました。　盗難除けを考慮に入れて、あえて、実際の数の公表は、控えさせて頂きました。　ほとんど全ての展示物が、８００年から１０００年以上経っている日本刀です。　たかが、３００年の歴史しかない御国の方々が、これらの鬼素晴らしい太刀、大太刀を拝見して、びっくりするのは、当たり前です。　

歴史を知らないで、日本刀を勉強しても、無意味です。　猫に小判、馬の耳に念仏、豚に真珠の類の行いです。

日本刀を、武器としてだけではなくて、国宝、重要文化財、そして、重要美術品として、崇めて、認識して、指定した日本人、日本国家は、かなり、偉大、そして、高貴な行為を致したと、吾輩は、感服致しました。　

真の侍の国に存在する日本刀に、改めて、敬意、敬服、感謝感激を、致します。

この地を、訪れないで、日本刀を、語るのは、邪道です。　他に存在しない高貴な日本刀を、多々、飾っています。

神社近くには、警察が、長らく、待機していました。　そして、この地は、小さな島なので、悪さを致せば、必ず、警察に、逮捕されます。　警察官の方々の顔つきが、実に、決まっていました。　職務質問している警察の方々の凛々しい顔が、今だに、脳裏を過ります。

この神社では、国宝級と重要文化財級の日本刀が、展示されており、真の白銀師の方なら、直ぐに、気付く事のできる、ある物が、平安時代と鎌倉時代の太刀や大薙刀に、付随していました。

余談です。

我最愛の妻も大薙刀に、見入っておりました。　あまり見ることの出来ない大薙刀が、この神社で、たくさん、展示されていました。　見学中に、外は、台風の影響で、雨が、たくさん降っていました。　日本刀の見学後に、外に出ると、雨は、すでに、止んでいました。

国宝級と重要文化財級の 日本刀が、展示されていた場所のすぐ後方に、若干、錆び身の日本刀が、数振り、何気なく、置いてありました。　『あれらを、我手で、研磨してみたいな』と、妄想致しておりました。　きっと、京都産の地艶で、磨いたら、鬼素晴らしい、『地肌、刃紋、働き、映り等が、刀身の表面に出て来るのだろう』と、脳裏を、過りました。

The 3 extremely well-made Japanese swords received the 3 different titles by the Nippon-Seifu ( Japanese Government ).

The 3 important Japanese swords are:

1. Kokuhou ( National Treasure ) type swords

2. Juyou-Bunka-zai ( Important Cultural Asset ) type swords

3. Juyou-Bijitsu-hin ( Important Artifact item ) type swords


The Japanese Government is willing to buy these swords for a lot of money. If you are able to find them in the US, you can sell these swords to the Government of Japan, National Museum, Prefecture Museum or wealthy company presidents or executives. You and your family members will be well paid by them, indeed.

The estimated value of these 3 types of swords since 1968:


1. Kokuho type swords / Over $500,000

2. Juyou-Bunka-zai type swords / Over $300,000
